How do building AT&T signal boosters work?

Moving mother in law to senior facility, no ATT cell service inside. She has windows but can't put anything outside. Would this booster help at all if the antenna is inside by the window?
Unfortunately, this system is not designed to work with exterior antenna placed inside despite near a window. Oscillation between exterior antenna and interior antenna will prevent it from working.
We recommend an AT&T signal booster kit that is designed for use with no exterior antenna which uses a slightly different technology such as one listed at this link: https://www.signalbooster.com/products/cel-fi-pro-signal-booster-for-att-3g-4g-lte
However, please note that even for the signal booster at link above to work, it requires some signal near window (atleast -110dB 3G or -120dB 4G) where donor unit (in lieu of exterior antenna) is placed.

Good service before metal roof on our house. Metal roof and lots of tall trees... will the booster help us at all?
If signal outside is good, practically any of our cell boosters offering needed/stated coverage area would improve indoor reception over that much space.
Weaker the signal outside, the higher stated square footage booster kit you must choose. For example, if you have only 1-2 bars outside, you will need the $850 booster that states it offers 6000 sq. ft. coverage although you may need better reception over only 1000 sq. ft. coverage space. -
What is included in the kit? How much coax wire is included?
If you see the description of this listing and click the respective model, there are more details of each model, for example click on Fusion4Home Omni/Whip and you will see that it comes with the main signal booster unit, outdoor omni-directional antenna, indoor whip antenna, one 50 feet of RG-6 cable and power supply. It does not require another cable because interior antenna is built right into the main signal amplifier unit.

I have an Iphone 7 + phone on the AT & T cell system. When I'm in the mountains at our camp, I'm lucky if I get one bar. I have a Fire TV with my Dish anywhere app. I need a solution that I can use my iPhone Hot Spot, link my Fire TV to, and be able to connect to my Dish Anywhere app on the TV so we can watch the weather and other programs. What solution will work? Thank you in advance.

Do antennas have to be so far apart?
Antenna separation requirement greatly depends upon the materials that exist between interior and exterior antennas. For example, if there's a thick concrete ceiling between outside and inside antennas, then the stated separation may not be required. After installation, you can easily determine whether suitable distance you have set will work because signal amplifier LED lights will indicate that to you.
