Note: Stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier.

When installed and used as recommended, they improve indoor cellular signal reception for multiple service provider networks including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint - at the same time.

Understanding How Signal Boosters in Buildings Work.

Cell phone signal boosting kits are made up of three parts: an external antenna, signal amplifier, and internal antenna.

The role of an exterior building antenna is to transmit the signal from your closest cell phone tower into the premises by way of a coaxial cable.

The signal amplifier boosts and repeats these signals, multiplying them several times before transmitting them to the indoor antenna via a coaxial cable.

The indoor antenna distributes the boosted signals to areas of poor strength, providing crystal-clear voice calls and superfast wireless data transfer.

It is important to understand that signal boosting products rely on the strength of an outdoor signal, which is then boosted and distributed using a DAS (distributed antenna system). For this reason, the coverage size of the boosted area within the building depends to a large extent on the strength of the outdoor signal.

As such, the actual coverage can never be predicted with any certainty. This explains why cell phone signal boosters will give a coverage area "up to" a certain square footage. Square footage areas are always an estimate, as no booster can guarantee an exact level of coverage.

This cell phone booster does not require Internet to work.

With this off-air external antenna signal booster, no Internet is required. Those kits that need Internet do not work with multiple carrier networks simultaneously. This is not one of those that require Internet service to function. It also works to improve reception for all Carrier networks simultaneously.

Follow The Easy Three-Step Installation Procedure.

Installation is easy if you follow the included step-by-step instructions. Here's a brief overview of installation: 1) Position the outdoor antenna at the optimal location. 2) Position the indoor antenna in the area where a boosted signal is most needed. 3) Position the signal amplifier close to a power source. Connect all three components using the provided coaxial cables, and setup is complete.

No Need for Passwords or Synchronization.

There's no need to sync your cell phone or other devices to take advantage of your new cell phone booster. This is unlike other devices like wireless earphones, headsets, and speakers, Bluetooth devices, and Wi-Fi hotspots.

When you connect to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, you need to locate the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi network and then log in using a password. If you don't have the password, you can't connect to the device. If you get a new cell phone device, you have to repeat the process all over again. Luckily, this is not true for signal boosting devices. You don't need to pair your devices, you don't need to login, and you don't need to do anything for the connection to work. Our signal boosters simply take existing signals, boost them to your devices, and relay the signals back again. An area of strong coverage is created within your building without the need for login details or passwords.

Simultaneous Support for Multiple Users.

Our signal amplifiers do not have a limit to the number of devices that can receive boosted signals at the same time. Of course, this "no limit" will always depend on how strong the signal is outside. The stronger the signal, the larger the coverage area, and the more devices that can connect simultaneously. Ultimately it comes down to the laws of physics. Any cell phone devices within the coverage area will achieve a stronger signal. Please note that checking signal strength in Decibels is a more precise method to check actual, realtime, signal strength received by a phone.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will this signal booster work on Spectrum network? Please advise.

Yes, Spectrum Mobile is a MVNO of Verizon which means that Spectrum uses Verizon's network to provide coverage. All major carrier networks are covered by these signal boosters, thus this signal booster will technically work for boosting indoor cell reception for all carriers. Thank you.

  • I just wanted to know what would work with US Cellular. I have 1650 sf with an unfinished basement. I do not think I just need one that will fix my problem. I drop calls in my house. We also cannot text. Just spins. Something changed with US Cellular around January 2021. We never had a problem. I am not positive a booster will help it either. But all I wanted to know is what I need to buy for my carrier and square footage.

Most likely there may have been a construction of house(s) or building(s) around your home which now blocks signals from the cell tower so our signal booster should help fix that problem.   If you would like an easy solution, consider buying the complete signal booster and installation service package. It includes powerful booster for entire home, as well as professional installation service.   If you can manage to install an antenna on outside building wall or roof and run cable into the house for connecting to cellular amplifier and interior antenna, you can buy these do-it-yourself installation signal boosters that start at only $299.99, depending on square foot indoor cellular coverage boost needed and strength of outside signal.   Like the installed kit, these do not require Internet to work.

Both solution options will improve US Cellular signal inside your house, as well as all other carriers to help guests stay connected if they have service from any other mobile service provider.    All are one-time purchase to improve your indoor cell service permanently - no monthly fees nor maintenance service required.

  • Does the outdoor antenna, mounted on top of my roof with a 6 ft. pole require being grounded?

Yes, it is safer to ground exterior antenna with a surge protector a grounding kit. It does not require to be grounded. However, if the area is prone to lightning strikes, it would be advisable to look into lightning protectors (50 Ohm surge protector or 75 Ohm surge protector, depending on exterior antenna port impedance of the cellular amplifier you choose) to ground outside antenna.

  • Is there a way to use two exterior antennas with the booster kit since they do different things (Omni antenna signals in all directions and Yagi antenna signals farther away) or do they only work with one or the other? Pretty sure you can only use one but I thought I would ask.

Technically you can use both antennas using an extra cable you can buy and a 75 Ohm combiner you can also buy, but this is not recommended by manufacturer because results would mostly be worse. The reason is that the mixed frequencies cause noise which also gets amplified by amplifier. However, technically, it can be better in rare circumstances when mixed up frequencies do not result in too much noise that inadvertently get amplified (which is rare).

  • I bought the cheapest one (Flare) with Omni multidirectional outside antenna, and it doesn't work in our area. Could we possibly exchange its antenna for a Yagi unidirectional antenna? I was told it is more powerful - is that true?

Sorry it is not working out for you as expected. Please know that signal bars are not an accurate way to measure signal strength. Please check signal strength after turning on the power to the cell booster kit by putting your phone in field test mode or try making and receiving calls to know for sure whether there has been improvement.

As stated at website under "Warning" tab, for any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles of your home / building.

Therefore, is possible that outside signal strength at your location is too weak to catch and amplify with the kit you bought.

Yes, a Yagi antenna (75 Ohm) can be purchased to switch out with current Omni antenna (75 Ohm) because Yagi's can be pointed to nearest cell tower to focus farther and catch signals from farther away.

Omni antennas are good when signal outside is strong because they can catch signals from all carrier's cell tower locations, in all directions, at the same time. But they cannot pull signals from as far away as Yagi antennas.

It is also very important to install correctly per instructions provided - especially very important to place outside Omni multi-directional antenna at best spot on roof or point Yagi directional antenna precisely to nearest relevant carrier's cell tower. A signal meter may help. This may get your kit working better to provide great reception, all across inside your home.

If installation is too difficult for you, do consider a powerful cell signal booster kit that includes professional installation service at your home. We will ensure the weak signal situation is resolved: https://www.signalbooster.com/products/cell-phone-signal-booster-plus-installation.

  • Being a snowbird, can I use my "Home" cell signal booster in my RV, as long as I take the outside and inside equipment? Is there really much difference between a "Home" booster and an RV booster? Will one type work for both instances?

Yes, as long as cell signal booster is turned on only when RV is parked, it is perfectly alright to buy and install a home cell signal booster in a RV. It may be helpful for you to know that that practically all home boosters offer higher decibel gain limit (60db - 70dB) than all-carrier in-motion RV boosters (up to 50 dB max). The reason for this is that FCC does not allow higher than 50 dB Gain for all-carrier boosters used in moving vehicles. This is the reason why if you need signal boost only when RV is stationary, you have choice to buy more powerful booster designed for homes and offices.

  • Do you have to register the booster with your carrier?

Yes, please read more details here.

  • Do you think those little stickers you put on the back of your phone that supposedly boost your signal work at all?

Sorry, in our opinion, those stickers are just a gimmick that play on finicky nature of signal bars.

We tested them after putting a cell phone in field test mode, and it made no difference.

Thus, they do not actually help improve signal at all, whatsoever.

  • I would like to know your Cellular Booster equipment suggestion for repeater: GSM/WCDMA Bands 2 and 5; and LTE Band 4, having cellsite at 14.512486 / -89.244167, repeater at 14.505042/-89.27065 and point to provide service at 14.498342/-89.267069 (888mts. from repeater site). Other point to provide service would be at 14.493175, -89.291592.

All of the boosters that we offer are able to cover those bands. Choose from suggestions based on square footage, and exterior signal strength. What is the situation that you are looking at boosting? If you need furher help or recommendation, you may contact us by email or phone to provide details of what you need and your budget.

  • Does your signal booster work with Visible Wireless?

Yes it does, because Visible Wireless is a Verizon MVNO using the Verizon network. Thus, all of our boosters work with Visible Wireless. All major carrier networks are covered by these cell phone boosters for enhancing indoor coverage.

  • I have a booster. Do I keep my iPhone on WiFi calling?

To benefit from the cell signal booster, you must turn off wi-fi calling. Thank you.

  • Hi - we recently had to 'upgrade' our service from reliable CDMA to GSM service. We now only get One Bar (-119 dBA) inside. Our nearest cell tower is approx 2 miles away and we know exactly where it is. I got up on roof and reception only improved to -112 dBA. What would you recommend? Would switching to another service work better? Thanks.

Try our risk-free cell signal booster kit because it appears the building materials may be blocking signals.

  • I own a log home in Flagstaff AZ and Century Link DSL only provides 10 MB down and 1 up, too slow for remote work that requires video calls. I have Verizon wireless but the signal only works in certain parts of the house. Would a cell phone booster allow me to use my phone as a hot spot and then complete video calls for work?

Yes, absolutely. Exterior antenna will capture signals from far away cell tower and interior signal booster unit will amplify those signals many fold to broadcast strong signals across entire cabin. If you need professional installation which we always recommend, consider bundled cell signal booster with installation service package.

  • If I purchase a cell phone booster, how to I prevent my neighbor's cell phone from using my booster. Is there a way to program my IMEI number in my device to lock it to my cell phone booster? Which model will support this lock out feature?

The boosted signal indoors will not cross the home construction barrier for your neighbor to benefit from - it propagates only through open spaces inside your house / office. Consequently, there's no need to limit signal enhancement only to your phone. It is not even possible to do that because the working concept of a signal booster is that its exterior antenna captures signals from outside and channels them indoors via coaxial cable. Those signals are then amplified by the signal amplifier unit or central processing unit (CPU) located inside the house. Then amplified signals are broadcasted indoors through interior antenna. However many cell devices that are within the range of that interior antenna will have better and consistent connectivity with the nearest cell tower. Finally, when a cell device transmits the signal back in the form of voice, data, text - the same process occurs in reverse order. Thus, there's no such feature within any signal booster that can effectively lock out any specific cell device, or allow only specific devices to have better connectivity. However, like stated before, the boosted signal cannot benefit anyone outside the house, or office because the working concept of the booster system cannot occur outside since it is designed for use only inside the house.

  • I work in an office where we have about 2-3 bars of signal outside the office and 0-1 bars in the building. I know this is not the best measurement tool, but since we are unable to call from inside, this is what I used. Anyway, we have about 16,000 square feet to cover and was wondering if the device mentioned at the beginning would work for our circumstances? Looking to be able to use cell phones inside to make calls and if possible access the internet. Thanks in advance!

Based on information you provided, we would highly recommend the business cell signal booster with installation service that can boost coverage for up to 35,000 sq. ft. with excellent signal outside. In your case with 2-3 bars of signal outside, it should cover the 16K sq. ft. cellular coverage needed. As stated in preceding link, purchasing that kit would also provide professional installation service which boosters of such caliber require [the system must be designed perfectly (meaning placement of components) to make the most of the booster's uplink and downlink power]. Please contact us with more precise details if you would like suggestion of install-it-yourself cell signal booster that will work for your needs. But based on info you have provided, the kit at the preceding link would be guaranteed to work for your needs.

  • Is there any benefit to using two exterior Yagi antennas linked with splitter to improve signal in less than perfect service area? Any recommendation for how far they should be apart from each other?

No, that is not recommended in most cases. Outside dual antennas are used for band issues between two separate carriers. For example, two people in a home have two different carriers so they need two antennas to face completely different directions. Antennas cannot send signals over the home or have their signals make an imaginary X. You will want both external antennas to be separated as much as possible, and on the edge of the house facing away from one another. Please contact us regarding your specific situation so we can help.

  • Do you serve Puerto Rico? We have T-mobile.

Yes, we ship to Puerto Rico, and these signal boosters work with most Carrier networks in Puerto Rico.

  • Can the signal amplifier be placed in unconditioned attic space?

All cell phone signal booster operating temperatures range from approx. 32 degrees fahrenheit to 100 degrees fahrenheit. While they can get hotter while operating in that temperature range setting safety, we do not recommend putting the booster in attic, etc. as it can get hot to the touch while operating and may also pose fire hazard.

Thus, we recommend that you place the main signal amplifier unit in an air circulating and temperature controlled environment on a solid surface.

This is just a general recommendation of course because there are instances when it is possible to place it in an attic on a safe, solid surface where there is vent pipe placed near it blowing cool air (if heat anticipated due to hot weather).

But generally, it is not recommended because most home attics get very hot in summer (hotter than 100 deg. f.) due to hot temperature outside, sun overhead, and no air conditioning / air flow.

  • Looking for cell booster to improve text messaging capabilities. Do all cell boosters have this feature besides cell signal boosting?

Yes, all cell phone signal boosters automatically enhance text messaging connectivity along with voice and data signal enhancement.

  • Do cell phone boosters enhance transmission as well as reception?

Yes, absolutely. Reception is referred to as downlink power boost and transmission is referred to as uplink power boost. Our signal boosters enhance uplink as well as downlink power output for stronger and more consistent mobile connectivity both ways.

  • I have installed a cell phone booster and am happy with the way it works. My cell phone works better than it ever has in this rural setting. What I need is to install the outdoor antenna in a better location so that I'm not running cable through my house and down my stairs. I was wondering if you have installers I could hire to do this work. My cottage is in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. I would need someone to install it on the mast of our TV antenna. The TV antenna is located on the side of our house on the peak our second story, approximately 22 feet high. I would need a hole drilled in the house on that side so the cable could go through and to the indoor antenna. Thank you.

Since you now require professional installation, it may have been cheaper if you had directly purchased our cell phone signal booster with installation package listed at: https://www.signalbooster.com/products/cell-phone-signal-booster-and-installation-service

Anyway, yes, we can definitely help you with altering your current installation. However, we need more details including your address to determine cost to have installer come out there to make those changes. Please submit installation questionnaire (please fill out as much info as you can, and we will help with the rest) and we will be able to provide installation cost that we can charge, to re-deploy the system perfectly for you, per your needs.

    Thank you.

  • We have a house in Lake of the Ozarks and have no TV, phone or Internet reception. Zilch. We have Verizon cell plan but no bars and no reception when we are there. Will a booster work for us or do we need some type of reception?

Yes, you do need some signal that signal booster can amplify so please check to confirm this outside (preferably on the roof for best possibility to catch cell signals). To do that, either you can use your smartphone and put it in the cell phone field test mode to measure signal strength, or you can even buy the direction finder antenna kit which will determine for sure whether a powerful exterior yagi antenna pointed to nearest cell tower can catch any signals. You need atleast -110dB (3G) or -120dB (4G/LTE) for any cellular amplifier system to work with in order to provide useable signal indoors. If signal is at weaker end, choose the most affordable kit with maximum stated square feet coverage because that will offer highest amplification providing highest Gain and uplink/downlink power. Or choose the universal cell phone booster we recommend and install for you that is powerful enough for all homes - purchase includes professional installation service nationwide, including at the Lake of the Ozarks.

  • I have been told there's no repeater booster that will work on pay as you go phones. Is this true?

That is certainly not true. There's no merit to that wrong info you received. Prepaid and postpaid phones both use network coverage service, just the same. In some cases, Carriers may choose to provide different frequencies & networks to distinguish call and data traffic trends on pre-paid phones, but those are also covered just the same by our cell phone boosters.

  • The roof to the house has metal at the base. As such a signal booster would require an antenna on top of the roof? Is this correct?

Not necessarily. Antenna can be mounted on outside wall, near soffit at edge of the roof, or even in balcony if you have one. It just needs some signal from outside that it can send via coaxial cable inside to signal amplifier to amplify and broadcast inside. The fact that roof has metal base or is fully made of metal does not interfere with signal boosting system because it uses coaxial cable to bring signal inside.

  • I’m looking for a cell phone booster for a remote cabin. I can get a decent signal in one area of the house. I ran the Field Test on my iPhone using *3001#12345#* but I'm not sure how to interpret the results. Can you look at the attached screen shots and confirm that I have an adequate signal for one of your products to work?

Per dB signal reading instructions and Looking at RSRP and RSRQ screenshot you sent us by email, where RSRP stands for Reference Signal Received Power with range from -45dbm (good) to -140dbm (bad), "Rsrp0" is the primary cell phone tower connected to your phone. "rsrp1" is the next closest one with the strongest connection. Both show in upper -120's which is not good enough.

RSRQ stands for Reference Signal Received Quality with range from -40dB (bad) to -3dB (good). Those show in upper -30's which is also not good enough considering the signal loss the cabling will incur to bring it inside.

The only bright side is that these readings may be from your room that has best signal - if you would please check whether signal is better on the ROOF, or even OUTSIDE, that would determine whether signal booster will help or not.

If outside LTE readings of RSRP are better (lower number preceded by negative symbol) than -120dB coupled with better signal quality (RSRQ), then you may be in luck and use any of the boosters with Yagi antenna to make sure you get great signal inside the cabin.

  • Do the boosters you offer work without home internet?

Yes, all these cell phone boosters listed here work independent of home Internet. They do not require home or office Internet to work. They catch signals from nearest cell tower, amplify them, and broadcast inside your office / home so you can have better cellular reception without needing Internet.

  • How does it work with a metal roof? We have poor service outside and no service inside. But if we walk 400 ft, we have 2 bars of LTE.

As long as you have some signal outside, you can get better signal inside. Metallic roof has no impact because exterior antenna catches signal from cell tower miles away and then injects it into the building via coaxial cable. The type of roof you have has practically no impact on your ability to get good signal inside with any of these cell phone signal booster kits.

  • Your website says "Works on all cellular service carrier networks in USA simultaneously incl. Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless and Sprint." What about Canada, will the booster work?

Yes, they will work in Canada but there're different set of cellular amplifiers approved for use in Canada, and they are listed here: https://www.signalbooster.com/products/canada-cell-phone-signal-booster-for-building

  • The reference says 15 vertical feet distance required between exterior and interior antenna. I can get about 10-11 feet vertical, then it is to its side another 10-12 ft. Do you think that will work, or do I need to wrap the booster in a copper mesh to shield it?

Separation distance between outside and inside antennas is a rough estimate because there're usually varying amounts of obstructions in between.

Therefore, your situation may be feasible but not guaranteed to prevent oscillation.

More the obstructions, the lesser the distance can be without causing oscillation based on the type of materials that are in between, blocking the signals that may cause feedback.

That list at preceding link also has link to Faraday products you can place in between inside and outside antennas that intentionally block signal even more than common building materials.

  • I live in a community with a HOA, anything outside needs approval. I get a pretty good signal in my attic, but not so much in the house. Can the outside antenna be put in the attic instead?

Yes, donor antenna can be placed in attic of Home Owners Association policies prevent you from mounting exterior antenna that is visible from outside. It is definitely doable, but you will need to ensure there's enough separation between it and your interior antenna. Usually this is not a problem because the roof provides a good barrier and therefore much separation distance is not needed. But in your case where you plan to put exterior antenna in attic, you may have to make sure there're enough materials in between both antennas or distance is enough to prevent oscillation or feedback which may cause cell signal booster to work it lower capacity or power down completely if bad enough. See this article for more details such as separation distance required between exterior and interior antennas for proper functioning of a cellular amplifier system: https://www.signalbooster.com/pages/wheres-the-best-place-for-an-outside-antenna-for-cell-phone-signal-booster

  • My wife has AT&T and I have Verizon Wireless - will this work with both carriers at the same time?

Yes, all units except GO-X for up to 15k sq. ft. in this listing work for all Carriers simultaneously.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
