Cable length customization.
For most practical purposes, included cable lengths will suffice for installation. However, in rare situations longer cable(s) may be needed due to distance between antenna, and signal amplifier unit. Secondly, in some cases where signal that exterior antenna can capture happens to be very weak to provide enough interior improved coverage space, a customized shorter cable will be best to minimize signal loss. The reason for this is that cables incur signal loss so longer the cable, more the loss of signal incurred. Therefore, see below for optional cable purchase suggestion to facilitate installation and/or better performance.
Optional Cables and Accessories Available.
Cables incur signal loss. Therefore, shorter the cables, the better the performance. While this kit includes required outside cable, you may buy a different specific size cable to meet your needs. If longer or shorter outside cable needed than included size, a different size RG6 cable with F-Male connectors can be purchased separately. For even better performance, select from "low loss" RG11 cables to upgrade outside antenna cable (must be bought separately).
Although this purchase has all other components required to install the system per se, the following accessories may make the installation easier and help protect the system in the future:
- J-Bar Pole Mount For Outdoor Antennas: Adjustable 20" J-bar outdoor antenna mounting pole is a universal mounting pipe that allows you to position your exterior antenna higher for optimal reception. The bracket attaches to any flat surface including a roof, fascia, side of house, or deck rail (SC-MOUNT-JBAR).
- Lightning Surge Protector (75 Ohm) for SC-RG6 and SC-RG11 coaxial cables: In-Line Surge Arrestor With F-Female and F-Male connectors for SC-RG6 and SC-RG11 coaxial cables protects signal booster from damaging electrical surges (SC-LP-75). Or choose 75 Ohm surge protector.
- Grounding kit helps ground the surge protector to disperse lightning surge.
- Need longer cable run? Get 50 Feet Premium Low-Loss 75 Ohm RG-11 coaxial cable with F-Male connectors (SC-RG11-50).*
- Need even longer cable run? 100 Feet Premium Low-Loss 75 Ohm RG-11 coaxial cable with F-Male connectors (SC-RG11-100).*
*Upgrading from included RG-6 cables to lower loss RG-11 cables may be helpful because longer the cable, higher the signal loss. For every 100 feet, the signal loss is approx. -4dB on low frequencies and approx. -6dB on high frequencies. Therefore, it is best to use shortest runs possible. If using longer runs, outside signal strength should be good to support the Gain loss. Please contact us if you need assistance regarding your situation.

Questions & Answers
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
I have this Fusion4Home kit. While we're somewhat happy with it, but we're not TOTALLY happy with it. Maybe that is because we are 10 miles from the cell tower it is not boosting inside the home to meet 1,500 sq. ft. at least. We need our cell phones to work in every nook and cranny of the house. Will the SureCall Flare 3.0 be better for us so I can return this and get that one for better results?
Sorry, the SureCall Flare 3.0 is not much different from Fusion4Home. For even greater uplink and downlink power output, we recommend SureCall Fusion5s. Like in Fusion4Home kit, Yagi exterior and Panel interior antenna kitted version is recommended for best results using SureCall Fusion 5s. If you want to ensure ALL areas are covered, you can even use the Fusion5s with TWO panel antennas facing each other for fuller coverage by placing panel antennas on two extreme walls of the house. Note that there's no oscillation or feedback issue between two interior antennas (that can face each other from both extreme walls of the house without any problem). Thank you.
-
Is there a better indoor antenna than the panel antenna? I recently purchased the SureCall Fusion4home 3.0 with yagi and panel antennas. I find that unless I'm very near the panel antenna, the signal degrades sharply. I can literally go from the room the panel is in, to the next room and signal cuts in half or more... even to no signal. I should mention this unit is installed in my fifth wheel camper. The yagi is mounted on a 25 foot telescoping antenna pole all the way up. I'm still fiddling with the aiming but I'm pretty close. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry, the Panel antenna is already the strongest option. There are couple of suggestions that may help:
1. Using a signal meter may help point exterior antenna at a more precise spot to capture maximum signal from your Carrier's cell tower.
2. If you have excess left over exterior antenna cable, buying a shorter cable to replace it can enhance the system's capability by reducing signal loss because it is most important to feed maximum source signal to the booster to amplify. Your kit came with RG6 cable which you can replace with shorter RG6 cable but we recommend a shorter RG11 cable which is higher grade. However, know that RG11 cables are harder to bend and is thicker so penetrating it may be difficult - but it offers least signal loss. -
Will SureCall Fusion4Home 3.0 work for my off grid cottage? It has steel siding and roof. 760 sq. ft. internal space. 12VDC solar system power source. Using Rogers and Virgin (Bell) cell systems. Multiple users on at the same time. What do you suggest?
First of all, you will need to make sure that there's some signal outside by checking the signal strength accurately in decibels. The best reading can be taken anywhere from along the perimeter of the cottage, or on the roof using your smartphones (try both Rogers and Virgin Mobile consecutively). If signal is still too weak (worse than -110 dB), you can try to see if you can acheive stronger signal by using a site survey kit with a directional antenna mounted on tallest pole you can find. This kit will only work well to boost signal inside if there's some outside signal available using any methods as described. This kit SureCall Fusion4Home 3.0 takes 12 volts DC straight from the source, as long as it does not exceed its 15 volt upper limit. Most other boosters in the market are not compatible with 12 volt source after having tested it in the past (overheats the boosters so their only option is to use the included AC adapter, which wouldn't work in yoiur case since you do not have 110 VAC option). Thus, we suggest this Fusion4Home Yagi & Panel antenna kit. Another reason for choosing this kit is that Yagi's are directional antennas that are best for catching signals from farther away. There's an assembly called SCHardwire that you can buy, which has an in-line fuse and bare leads to a DC source.

I have a few questions: 1) Are there any issues to having a second cable added from the outdoor antenna to the signal booster? I need a longer cable than the 50 ft. to securely install the our booster where it works the best. 2) Does any cable cord work or is a specific one needed? It was working really well, but it seems to have stopped doing as well, and was looking into getting a new cable as well given the issues above. 3) Is there any program to monitor the boosting / input / output / amount of gain besides watching the lights on the signal booster?
Please know that exterior antenna realignment usually fixes the problem if booster was working before and stopped working afterwards. This is usually because there may be new construction or property development (houses or buildings constructed) around your home/building which in turn begin to block cell tower signal due to obstruction in the line of sight or compound denseness of materials between antenna and nearest cell tower. Sometimes it may also be so that a properly aimed directional antenna has shifted from position due to excessive winds and stormy weather. Therefore try configuring exterior antenna first before troubleshooting and altering your pre-configured standard installation with stock kit parts provided. Anyway, here are the responses to your questions:
1 & 2. Fusion4Home has 75 Ohm impedance external antenna port. Only if absolutely necessary, you can use longer 75 ft. RG6 cable with F-Male connectors by replacing existing 50 ft. cable. This is suggested because it would minimize signal loss incurred due to addition of connector in between. You can even add any other length 75 Ohm RG6 cable (but you will need F-Female to F-Female connector). However, we suggest adding more cable from exterior antenna only if it will drastically catch a lot more signal from nearest cell tower to offset the signal loss the longer cable will incur because that unboosted signal is very precious as it is needed badly by the booster to amplify it. This is why you can much more freely add more cable to interior antennas than exterior antennas.
3. There's SureCall Sentry monitoring system available to remotely monitor any changes, fluctuations, etc. and even sends email alerts. However, unfortunately, it is not compatible with SureCall Fusion4Homes. The next more powerful kit it is compatible kit is the SureCall Fusion5s. -
We have a home in the mountains where most of the time we have zero bars. Do you have a device that would give us a signal? Thanks.
As long as there's some signal outside to amplify, a cell signal booster will help bring that signal inside after amplifying it many fold.
Please know that signal bars are not an accurate way to measure signal strength. Please check signal strength by putting your phone in a field test mode and then make / receive calls outside at the best spot where you can place outside antenna, to know if there's required signal of atleast -110 dBm.
If you do not have atleast -110 dB and you do not have a clean line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles of your home / building, no signal booster will be able to boost your signal. It is possible that outside signal strength at your location is too weak to amplify with a basic entry level kit with an "Omni" (omni-directional) antenna. Therefore, pick a cell signal booster kit that has directional outside antenna called Yagi or LPDA (log periodic dipole array) antenna.
When you get such a kit, it is also very important to install correctly per instructions provided - especially very important to point outside directional antenna precisely to nearest relevant carrier's cell tower. A signal meter may help with this.
Please contact us if you need help regarding your particular situation at your mountain home. -
Hello, I have read your article regarding which cell booster to buy but am still a bit uncertain. We have a weak outside signal due to both terrain and being rural (one to two bars). However, per your article, everything you recommend for weak outside signal is for a large home or office building and is quite expensive. We have a $500 budget and a 1500 sq ft home. We don't need something for 5000 sq ft. I would appreciate any assistance.
The SureCall Fusion4Home Yagi/Panel kit would meet your requirements perfectly. It is within your budget and while it may seem to be an overkill with its stated "up to 5000 sq. ft." coverage, that statement is based on premise that outside signal is very good (4-5 bars) but you say that it is not so, in your situation (only 1-2 bars). Therefore, it should cover 1500 sq. ft. which would suffice for your requirement. Yagi uni-directional antennas are perfect for uneven terrain in rural areas because when pointed to the nearest cell tower, it can capture maximum signal possible (more so than omni-directional antennas).

Where best to mount panel aerial
Panel antenna is best mounted on a wall facing the longest distance (length) of a room or preferably corridor. It can also be mounted on ceiling if you need signal strength improvement in the floor below or in basement below because it radiates signal in one direction.
-
I will only have 20 feet between the 2 receivers. will it still work?
Sorry, we would need to know a little more about how it is being used to know if it would work or not. Please give us a call.
-
How many devices will this handle at once and including data?
Depending upon the strength of signal outside the home/building, this signal booster kit would boost signal to max 5 to 7 users or devices at the same time.

Warning
Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.
Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:
Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.
Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.
If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.
For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
