Product Description
Installer signal meter and accessory kit helps make installation of cellular signal booster kits easier. Along with handheld lithium Ion battery powered signal detector, it includes a 10 ft. cable and connector to help any installer to connect coax cable and/or antennas directly to meter to help troubleshoot the signal amplifying system.
The handheld signal spectrum analyzer (RF Explorer) detects signal strength from -115 dBm to 0 dBm on frequencies ranging from 15 MHz to 2700 MHz (see data sheet for details). The 10 feet RG58 cable with N-Male to SMA-Male connector and a N-Female to N-Female barrel connector helps connect signal meter to exterior Omni or Yagi/ Log-Periodic antenna to test signal strength achieved in various locations and positions.
This affordable signal meter with cable and connector accessory kit helps to easily detect the distance, strength and direction of existing wifi & cell signals making it an effective tool for wi-fi & cell phone signal booster installations. RF Explorer 3G Combo is delivered with upgraded firmware v1.09 with lifetime free firmware revisions! Reduce the cost and implementation time of any cellular or WiFi reception boosting project with this powerful little tool that covers a wide range of frequencies including all mobile & cellular frequency bands.

Usage.
RF Explorer has been designed for signal booster system installers to detect signal distance, strength and direction when installing and troubleshooting wireless systems e.g. weBoost, SureCall, HiBoost, and Wilson Pro signal booster systems by Wilson Electronics.
This unit has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use without having to read complicated manuals to understand its advanced functionality. Most of the intricacy typically found in full sized Spectrum Analyzers has been simplified with functionality that is automatically resolved by the firmware. Based on an integrated double balanced mixer and frequency synthesizer, the unit offers compact size, high performance and low consumption, all at a low cost.
Two SMA connectors are provided for the two antennas included - a whip helical for the 2.4 GHz band and a wide-band telescopic antenna for Sub-GHz frequencies.
Accessories included.
- RF Explorer signal meter.
- Helical whip antenna for frequencies above 1000 MHz.
- Wideband telescoping antenna (Nagoya NA-773) for frequencies below 1000 MHz.
- Hard-sided case (black).
- 10 feet RG-58 cable with N-Male connector to SMA-Male connector (SKU: 955812).
- N-Female to N-Female barrel connector (SKU: SC-CN-01).
Notes.
Sorry, we do not rent RF signal detectors. Secondly, we have had too many instances of returns after use when no longer needed. Therefore, units that are operating as intended may not be returned for refund. Faulty units will only be exchanged under manufacturers warranty.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.
Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:
Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.
Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.
If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.
For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
